How to Get Cheap Internet Access
If you are in the process of deciding to become a part of
life on the Internet, you may be wondering where you should
go to find an Internet Service Provider or an ISP. In this
regard, you may be wonderin where you can go to obtain cheap
Internet access. Through this article, you will be provided
with some tips in regard to where you can go to find cheap
Internet access.
Free Internet Access
If you want really cheap internet access, you might just
as well search for free internet. Free internet services often
find ways of charging for access. In the end, you may end
up paying as much for free or cheap internet as you would
for a regular subscription.
Free Might Not Be Free
For instance, although NetZero and Juno both offer free service,
they seem to make it difficult to stay free. Technical support
costs $1.95 per minute, and if you want internet service without
annoying banner ads, you will have to pay $9.95 per month.
Additionally, you may be charged by your telephone company
for long distance service as well!
The Oldest Public Access ISP
Some cheap internet service, however, is for users with a
lot of computer experience, such as Nyx, a Denver-based provider
that claims to be “the world's oldest free public-access Internet
Service Provider.” Nyx offers Unix shell accounts, web space
and Unix programming and development tools—not for the computer
light weight.
Cheap ISPs in Business Today
Some also offer very cheap services that include little,
and post another offer right beside it that has things most
people want—of course, for a higher price. So if you can deal
with a bare-bones internet service, some of these may be for
you. Also if you’re very computer literate, there are ISPs
that would fit your abilities nicely.
Some services are limited to regions or availability. An
ISP called usol.com is limited both these ways. This service,
for $6.95 per month, provides 250 hours of access for Michigan
resident only, and only between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday
through Friday. Any other time is charged at the rate of 50
cents per hour.
Explore All of Your Options
There are so many different options on internet service—free,
cheap, or otherwise—that it would pay to do some research
before making a commitment.
